Vaper Expo UK 2022 Birmingham
On 7th October 2022, the Vape Green team visited the UK’s Vaper Expo at the NEC in Birmingham. We found some old friends and new favourites, plus new products to add to our inventory!
The Vape Green team had the opportunity to visit the largest vape expo in Europe on 7th October—and it was just as lively and delicious as you’d expect. The Vaper Expo UK was wall to wall with hundreds of disposable vapes, soon-to-be-released vape kits, premium E-Liquid brands, coil builders, and beyond. And with carnival rides, casino games, and bumper cars aplenty, this expo was one we’d be sure to remember.
We attended the expo to see what new and incredible products we could find, and along the way, we met up with some old friends (and made some new ones, too).
Here’s what the Vape Green team got up to at this year’s Vaper Expo!
Black Rose Elixirs
We came to the expo hoping to find some delicious new nic salts to stock. And while a majority of the booths at the show were pushing disposables, we found a few E-Liquid brewers with products worth sampling—and we left with an incredible new range of premium liquids.
Situated in a dark, swanky little nook was the team behind Black Rose Elixirs: a premium E-Liquid brand with just 3 flavours, but each one is complex and perfected. In fact, after we left the expo, Black Rose Elixirs won two different awards for their flavours.
Their Carmilla flavour won best cream in show, and their Faust flavour won best fruit! The 3 flavours are available in nic salts, 50/50 blends, and shortfills.
Black Rose Elixirs is a family-run business, and we had the pleasure of meeting Phil & Christina in person. The team really cares about the quality of their products, and they seemed to be really eager to hear our feedback—a sure sign of an excellent E-Liquid company. Their booth was a refined, polished display, with classic furnishings evocative of an elegant vintage study. The décor was simply exceptional.
And the flavours… by god, the flavours! We got to sample every juice in either an MTL or a sub-ohm device, and each one stood out as something wholly unique to the market. My personal favourite was Carmilla, which is a decadent, creamy coffee liqueur, sponge cake, and cream. This was the best dessert vape I’ve had in ages!
This was most definitely the most impressive booth we saw—and we left with new stock to prove it!
Pod Salt
We met up with some friends at the Pod Salt booth, who were displaying all their best products, including the Pod Salt GO 600 disposables, the new Pod Salt NEXUS Nic Salts, and their latest range: Pod Salt Origin.
Now, I’m not a huge tobacco vaper. In fact, the only tobacco flavour I’ve ever really liked is Black Panther by Dr Vapes. But I really wanted to try the new Origin range to find out if it was actually possible to make 6 different tobacco flavours each taste distinctly different. The Vaper Expo was a unique opportunity, as each of the six flavours was lined up, pre-filled in a device with a disposable mouthpiece.
I was so pleasantly surprised by these E-Liquids; not only did each one taste completely different, but there were at least 2 or 3 that I liked and would actually vape. The standout flavour for me was the Cuban Creme Nic Salt, which has a smooth vanilla flavour beneath the semi-sweetened tobacco base. It was entirely unique and perfectly decadent—one I’m sure I’ll be buying for myself in the future!
Another standout was the Liquor Tobacco Nic Salt, which had a slightly sweetened tobacco base layered with dark and bold notes of liquor on the inhale. This one was really delicious, and I’m sure tobacco fans will love it!
Doozy
We met up with our friends at the Doozy booth and got to sample their latest range, which will be released in the coming weeks: Doozy Temptations. These are available in both shortfills and nic salts. After trying these, we immediately knew we had to snatch them up!
The range was a series of delicious dessert-themed E-Liquids, each one perfectly balanced for sweetness, warmth, and complexity.
The Ice Cream Cake flavour won the expo’s award for best dessert in show, and we totally see why: when Doozy asked us which flavour we liked the most, we unanimously agreed: Ice Cream Cake! Truly, though—each of the flavours in the range was incredible.
I’m also quite partial to Muffin Delight!
Disposable Vapes
Truth be told, the Vaper Expo was primarily a disposable vape showcase, and we saw so many different models. We saw vapes shaped like little takeaway cups, vapes with cats on the top, vapes shaped like little capsules, and even a few made of leather and wood!
While there were a lot of innovative new devices to try and so many brands to choose from, none of the disposables at the show really stood out to us as something we’d want to stock, though we did meet up with distributors at the SKE Crystal Bar booth and the Elux booth.
We got to sample the Elux Pro 600 range, which we immediately decided to snatch up after tasting the incredible flavours they had to offer. While the range is limited at the moment, we’re told that more flavours will become available in the future!
Takeaway
All in all, our trip to Birmingham was a productive one, as we left with a new range of premium UK E-Liquids to add to our inventory, plus goody bags chock full of freebies and a number of new contacts in the vape industry.
The standout of the Vaper Expo, for us, was the Black Rose Elixirs booth—not only for their exceptional décor, but for their positively delicious E-Liquid flavours. Their E-Liquids might not actually make you ooze elegance, but you’ll definitely feel that way!
We had a stellar time perusing the expo’s many vendors, games, displays, and activities, from the casino tables to the branded, souped-up cars and the amazing hot dog cart (it was a really good hot dog).
And of course, we loved meeting up with our friends at Pod Salt, Doozy Vape Co., Klik Klak, VooPoo, and beyond.
We’d like to extend our thanks to the NEC in Birmingham, the vendors at the event, and the organisers of the Vaper Expo this year.
We hope to see you again next year!
