Elf Bar Elfa Pro Flavours: A Review of 5 Exclusive Pod Flavours
The Elf Bar Elfa Pro pre-filled pod kit was released, offering 13 incredible pre-filled vape pod options designed by the flavour masters at Elf Bar. The range includes exclusive Elfa Pro flavours — and we’re here to tell you all about them!
I had the pleasure of trying the new Elf Bar Elfa Pro, which came with one Blue Razz Lemonade pod included. Of course, this is one of the most popular flavours Elf Bar has ever made, included in most of their disposable ranges and even the Elf Bar Mate 500 pre-filled pods.
But what about the Elfa flavours we’ve never tried from Elf Bar before, like Cranberry Grape, or Blueberry Cotton Candy? I just had to try these Elf Bar Elfa Pro pre-filled pods to let you all know what to expect, whether they’re worth buying, and if Elf Bar hit the nail on the head with the taste.
Let’s dive into these 5 unique Elfa Pro flavours, with honest ratings for each to help you find which pods are right for you.
Exclusive Elf Bar Elfa Pro Flavours
Remember: these are only one vaper’s opinions. Interpret them as you will!
1. Banana Pre-Filled E-Liquid Pods by Elf Bar Elfa Pro
£5.99 | 3 for £15
Flavour: Banana, Ice
This isn’t technically an exclusive Elfa Pro flavour, but it does taste quite different compared to both the Elf Bar Mate 500 banana pods and the Elf Bar disposable flavour.
Above all else, this flavour is truly authentic. It tastes strikingly like a real banana, especially on the inhale, with a little added sweetness to evoke the true Elf Bar experience.
This flavour isn’t overly sweet, though—it’s nicely balanced and ever-so refreshing.
Where the other Banana Elf Bar flavours taste more artificial, packed with sweetness and sometimes too much ice, this one is perfect.
It’s definitely my favourite of the Elfa Pro flavours I’ve tried so far, and I know I’ll be coming back for more!
2. Strawberry Kiwi Prefilled Pods by Elf Bar Elfa Pro
£5.99 | 3 for £15
Flavour: Strawberry, Kiwi, Ice
This Elfa Pro flavour is heretofore unseen in Elf Bar’s lineup, except in their Elf Bar T600 range and the CR500 range.
But given the popularity of this flavour combination, it’s strange that they haven’t integrated it into the 600 disposables range yet.
Truthfully, I feel that the strawberry overpowers the kiwi in this flavour, but that doesn’t bother me too much. Instead, you get more of a sour, zingy fruit flavour layered over the strawberry, with added ice to keep it cool and consistent with Elf Bar’s other flavours.
Overall, this one is a nice, refreshing, and flavourful pod that I know I’ll be buying again.
3. Elfbull Prefilled Pods by Elf Bar Elfa Pro
£5.99 | 3 for £15
Flavour: Energy Drink, Ice
Again, this is another of the flavours that can technically be found in the Elf Bar range, though before these pods debuted, it was only found in their 0mg strength 600 disposables.
Still, this is an energy flavour, which Elf Bar has done many times over. I was excited to see how they’d perfected it this time around.
In my opinion, this Elfa Pro flavour is most definitely better than the energy flavour found in the Mate 500 pods. You get endless mouthfuls of dense, delicious flavour.
I will say that I think the 0mg 600 disposables might have done this flavour better, but only by a hair—it’s only a marginal difference, and since this is a cost-effective alternative, I’d rate these very highly.
4. Kiwi Passionfruit Guava Prefilled Pods by Elf Bar Elfa Pro
£5.99 | 3 for £15
Flavour: Kiwi, Passionfruit, Guava, Ice
The ultra fruity classic from the Elf Bar disposable range comes strong in an aromatic pod that tastes like a scented candle smells.
It was ultra-sweet (which I like), so if you’re not into the sweeter flavours, you may want to look elsewhere.
At first, I found the authentic taste of the passionfruit and guava to be really nice, and the fact that the richness is tampered a bit by the ice makes it all the more satisfying.
There isn’t a whole lot of kiwi except on the exhale, and the flavour is most prevalent in the aftertaste. This results in the flavour feeling less sickly overall, and I appreciate the attention given to the aftertaste.
5. Strawberry Grape Prefilled Pods by Elf Bar Elfa Pro
£5.99 | 3 for £15
Flavour: Strawberry, Grape, Ice
I had high hopes for this one. A strawberry Elf Bar flavour has the potential to be a slam dunk.
Plus, given the absence of a grape flavour in the Elfa line-up, I figured that this was their new and improved alternative.
Unfortunately, I didn’t love this flavour. Don’t get me wrong—I’m sure some people will love it, but it’s simply not my cup of tea. I found the flavour overall to be a bit perfume-tasting, though the aftertaste was quite nice and refreshing overall.
I got more tanginess from the flavour than anything else, though it didn’t quite taste of strawberry, and the grape flavour was muted.
With that being said, this isn’t so sweet, so if you find other Elfa Pro flavours to be sickly, you’ll love this pod.
Generally speaking, I don’t usually go for berry flavours, so my metric might be off for this one. Again, this is only one vaper’s opinion!
Notes on the Elf Bar Elfa Pro Pods
After using the kit for over a week and trying 6 different Elfa Pro flavours as of writing this article, I do have to say that there are a few pros and cons with these pods.
First and foremost, the pods benefit from having integrated mesh coils, which is an upgrade from the Elf Bar Mate 500’s coils, which weren’t mesh. Mesh coils deliver a denser mouthful of flavour than standard coils, which creates a taste more akin to the Elf Bar 600 disposable vapes.
In addition, the pods have a sponge inside holding the E-Liquid, which is designed to deliver the liquid to the coil more evenly than a simple E-Liquid-only pod. This, also, is a feature in the 600 disposables, though if you’ve never broken one open (which we do not recommend doing anyway), you might not know that that’s what’s going on inside.
And, much like the other devices Elf Bar has designed, these pre-filled vape pods utilise Nic Salts, a form of E-Liquid which provides a smoother throat hit and a quicker “nic fix” than standard “freebase” nicotine-containing E-Liquids.
I do wish that they’d make the pods in other strengths besides 20mg for those of us who don’t like to vape full-strength E-Liquids, but I’m hoping we’ll see more strengths become available as Elf Bar expands their flavour options for this device.
In an attempt to make the Elfa flavours more like the Elf Bar disposables, Elf Bar has integrated all of these features. However, where the disposables’ batteries tend to die before the E-Liquid fully runs out, thus preventing any burnt or dry hits, the Elfa kit’s battery tends to outlast the pods.
This leads to inevitable burnt hits as you reach the end of the E-Liquid in the pod. And because the sponge inside obscures the E-Liquid level, you’re unable to tell when the pod is running out.
In addition, I’m not sure how, but the pods don’t last as long as the disposables, as many users have noted in online reviews. It’s strange, because Elf Bar says that both devices hold the same amount of liquid (2ml), and they have roughly the same coil resistance and battery size. Still, this is something to bear in mind when stocking up on pods.
Summary
There are enough Elf Bar Elfa Pro flavours for every vaper to find something to their taste, from fruity ice flavours to beverages and more. Plus, the exclusive flavours in the Elfa range offer new Elf Bar flavours to explore.
