Riot BLCK EDTN Hybrid Nic Salts Review: 3 Awesome New Flavours from Riot
Riot E-Liquid just premiered 3 delicious new hybrid nic salt flavours from their new Riot BLCK EDTN range. In this article, we’ll be taking a closer look at the new flavours and rating them all!
Last week, Riot E-Liquid (formerly known as Riot Squad) released 3 new flavours for the Riot BLCK EDTN range, including three brand new hybrid nic salts.
Here, we’ll be taking a look at the three new nicotine salts and rating them all for their flavour.
But first, let me explain a bit about the whole “Hybrid Nic Salts” thing.
What are Hybrid Nic Salts?
Riot’s famous Hybrid Nic Salts are a type of E-Liquid made with a combination of nicotine salts and freebase nicotine E-Liquid.
Essentially, nic salts differ from freebase nicotine in their chemical formula. In nic salts, the pH level is altered to achieve a smoother throat hit and a quicker nicotine delivery at higher concentrations, which is excellent for those who are trying to quit smoking cigarettes.
Freebase nicotine can be found in 50/50 E-Liquids, and also in many of the nic shots you can add to your shortfills. Freebase nicotine tends to be sharper in throat hit the higher the strength is, so many vapers prefer to vape this type of E-Liquid at a lower strength.
Riot has engineered a special “hybrid” formula, which combines the smoothness and the swift nicotine delivery of nic salts with the sharper throat hit of the freebase nicotine. The result is an all-round well-balanced formula that hits all the right notes, especially ideal for those who are in the process of quitting smoking.
Their dedication to getting smokers to quit is one of the keystones of Riot’s mission as a company, so this Hybrid Nic Salt formula falls perfectly in line with their values.
Riot BLCK EDTN Hybrid Nic Salts Review
Riot’s been producing sumptuous Hybrid Nic Salts for a while, though. What sets these three new flavours apart is that they’re from the all-new BLCK EDTN range, which focuses on ritzy premium vape juices with immaculate flavours above all else.
Here are my ratings for each of the three new flavours!
1. Sour Cherry & Apple E-Liquid by Riot BLCK EDTN Hybrid Salt
£3.49 | 5 for £10
Flavour: Cherries, Green Apples
The moment I tasted this, I was immediately struck by how similar the flavour is to cherry and apple-flavoured Jolly Ranchers. Interestingly, the flavour isn’t advertised as a candy one, but it most certainly tastes like one.
The sour kick is subtle, but serves as a good alternative to the ubiquitous ice that I’m used to. Both the cherry and the apple flavours are well-balanced, and overall, the flavour is sweet and fruity.
While it’s not the flavour profile I’d usually look for in an all-day vape (which is more a comment on my preferences than the flavour itself), I’ve vaped this one for multiple days straight without getting tired of it.
There really isn’t much I’d change about this one. I will say that it’s the sweetest in the range by far, so if you’re not into the ultra-sweet type of vape juice, you may want to look at the other flavours in the range.
2. Mango Vanilla Ice Cream E-Liquid by Riot BLCK EDTN Hybrid Salt
£3.49 | 5 for £10
Flavour: Mango, Vanilla, Ice Cream
This is the one I was most excited to try, for certain. I have a thing for mango flavours.
I should say up front that I think calling this flavour an Ice cream one is a bit misleading—there’s no ice or menthol whatsoever, and you’re left with a warm, sweet flavour that’s not really evocative of an ice cream.
That being said, I really did love this flavour.
The vanilla is simply decadent—smooth, rich, and warm, just how I like it. The mango flavour is subtle yet sweet, not overpowering in the slightest.
Overall, this was a very tasty flavour—I just wish it had some ice to balance out the warmth a bit.
3. Deluxe Passionfruit & Rhubarb E-Liquid by Riot BLCK EDTN Hybrid Salt
£3.49 | 5 for £10
Flavour: Passion Fruit, Rhubarb
Another sweet flavour, this one provides a nice mouthful of juicy passion fruit on the inhale, with subtle notes of rhubarb to balance out the sweetness on the exhale. The aftertaste is a sugary-sweet fusion of both flavours, which is nice and light.
Overall, this one is a great fruit flavour, though I think it could do with a little more rhubarb (fun fact: did you know that rhubarb is actually a vegetable?) or something more tart, like a citrus fruit, to offset the overall sweetness.
Fans of sweet, fruity vape juices will love this one—especially if tropical flavours are your go-to. If you’re looking for a nice tropical vape this summer and you don’t like ice, this one should definitely be on your list of juices to try!
Conclusion
Riot E-Liquid does it again—this time, with three new premium E-Liquids that are sure to rock your socks. Their Hybrid Nic Salt formulation ensures a smooth, perfectly sharp throat hit and a swift nicotine delivery, which is ideal for new vapers and recent ex-smokers.
They’re available in three different strengths, too: 5mg, 10mg, and 20mg—which is great news for me, as I don’t generally vape 20mg all day every day since I quit smoking last year.
If you’ve never tried Riot E-Liquids before, you’re missing out. This UK-based brand has spread their reach far and wide, covering everything from shortfills all the way up to disposable vapes.
