Voom Pod Mod Review
I really loved using the Voom Pod Mod. My first flavour was the Cola Lime, which was really smooth and icy. It wasn’t super sweet, but really refreshing overall. I absolutely loved the flavour.
The Voom Pod Mod is matchbox-shaped, not unlike the popular Lost Mary BM600 vape. It has a sleek matte metallic body with a USB Type-C charging port and an LED light on the bottom, the Voom logos on either side, and the slot for the pod and lanyard attachment on top.
The build doesn’t feel cheap at all, especially for a device that retails for only £6.99. It’s quite well-built and sturdy for such an inexpensive vape kit. In fact, the body of the vape is made of the same materials as other popular metallic vapes like the Uwell Caliburn. It’s essentially £20 quality in a £7 vape.
The Voom pods are fitted magnetically, and they slot easily into place. They have a really comfortable, ergonomic mouthpiece that’s quite similar to the new Elf Bar 600 V2, though the Voom’s is a bit narrower to deliver a more concentrated plume of vapour.
I was also a bit confused by the LED indicator light on the bottom of the device. It flashes when you finish taking a puff—which is what disposables do when they’re dead. I was convinced after the first puff that the battery was dead, which wasn’t the case.
I had a bit of trouble attaching the lanyard on more than one of these kits. It can be a bit difficult since the cord doesn’t really want to come out the other side of the hole. I found myself having to use a staple to thread it through, but it only took an extra second (and a spare staple).
The Voom Pod Mod’s battery lasted almost exactly as long as the pods did, though I got slightly longer out of the pods than the battery. I would say that the pods each last roughly as long as a standard 600-puff disposable (though we all know those vapes are nowhere close to 600 puffs—read more about this in our article on disposable vape puff counts). I could tell it was time for a recharge when the flavour became a little muted.
This is honestly a really great kit for anyone who wants a cheap, sustainable alternative to disposable vapes and doesn’t want to have to bother refilling.
