When my GeekVape Aegis One reached the end of its natural lifespan, it was time for me to find another pocket-friendly, hassle-free MTL vape kit for everyday use. I was looking for a low-maintenance pod kit with a larger battery than my last, with affordable replacement pods and little to no interface.
Enter: the new VooPoo Vinci Q pod kit. Unbelievably cheap, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing like no other, this charming little pod kit sits comfortably in the hand or pocket, with several user-friendly features, including an automatic locking of the fire button after 5 minutes of inactivity (without locking the automatic draw activation!) to protect you from pocket firing. Plus, it’s compatible with a few existing VooPoo vape pods, so you have your pick of different coil types and resistances.
In this review, we’ll be detailing everything you need to know about the new VooPoo Vinci Q pod kit, including information about the device’s build and functionality, pros & cons of the device, and ratings of all the features.

Design & Appearance
At first glance, the Vinci Q is a gorgeous little device, weighing just under 40g fully assembled. The two-toned plastic exterior has a lovely smoothness to it, though the device doesn’t feel as sturdy as other metal-based models.
I received the ‘Vibrant Orange’ finish. The colour is lovely, and from what I’ve seen of the other available finishes, they’re all quite visually stunning. The green colour is particularly vivid, while the others—like the blush ‘Charming Pink’ colour— have more of a pastel hue.
Almost the entire pod is visible when inserted into the battery of the Vinci Q, which is a huge plus for the device, as you don’t have to remove the pod or hold it up to the light to see how much E-Liquid you have left.
The front of the device displays the ‘Q’ logo below the fire button, which houses an LED light. The fire button itself gives a satisfying ‘click’ when pressed, and the casing around it has raised edges to prevent accidental misfiring.
The back of the device has the VooPoo logo, and the bottom of the device has the Gene chip logo. On the right side of the device sits the USB Type-C charging port, and on either side of the vape, there are fixed airflow holes located just beneath the pod housing.
Now, those who know me will attest that I drop my vapes frequently—but I somehow managed to keep this vape from falling. Still, roughly two days into using the Vinci Q, a tiny crack appeared in the plastic on the top edge of the device below the pod. I theorise that this has something to do with the heat that the vape generates, which causes the plastic to expand and contract to the point that it cracks. It doesn’t affect the functionality of the vape, though. I would just recommend that those who buy this vape aren’t as careless as I am. Since the material the vape is made of isn’t very durable, you’ll want to be careful not to knock it or drop it.
After having scouted other reviews of the Vinci Q on the internet, I’ve learned that this has happened to a few other people who have owned the device, usually within the first few days of using it. It’s happened to those who’ve dropped it, but also those who’ve kept it safe.
Still, this is a cheap device—just £9.99. With that price point comes a certain “semi-disposable” quality, especially considering that the device has an internal battery—which is only designed to last between 6 months to a year anyway.
Given the price and the materials used in the device—and especially given that the crack doesn’t affect functionality—I’m prepared to write this off as a small flaw.
The Interface
As I mentioned, I was specifically looking for a pod kit with little to no interface, and that’s what I got. The interface on the Vinci Q pod kit is unobtrusive and minimal, with no adjustable power settings or menus.
The LED light is located within the fire button, designed to notify the user of the vape’s current battery life. When firing or drawing on the mouthpiece, it’ll glow green to signify that the battery is between 30% and 100%, and red when the battery is below 30% capacity. While charging, the light will blink either red or green to denote the current battery levels, and it’ll stop blinking when the device is fully charged.
In addition, the LED light is used to indicate safety precautions built into the device, including overheat protection, short circuit protection, over-vaping protection, and more. Full details of the LED light’s different signals and their meanings can be found in the Vinci Q user manual.
Like most vape devices, the Vinci Q can be powered on or off by pressing the fire button 5 times in quick succession. When left unused for 5 minutes or longer, the fire button will automatically lock, leaving the auto-draw still functioning. To unlock use of the fire button, simply auto-draw on the device or press and hold the button for 3 seconds.
Unfortunately, the LED light is hardly visible in direct sunlight or while outdoors, which is a small con but a con nonetheless. There have been several instances where I’ve stepped outside to vape, thought I turned it on, but was mistaken. This is only a minor inconvenience (leading to a 5-second setback), but it’s something that other vapers may care greatly about.
The Battery
I was most excited about getting a new device with a larger vape battery than my previous pod kit, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Straight out of the box, I filled my new Vinci Q with Bar Juice nic salts, and was able to vape steadily on it for a full 24 hours before I needed to recharge it. As a (very) frequent vaper, I usually have to charge my pod kits between two to three times a day, but this little beauty lasts me much longer. I usually only have to recharge it once a day!
When the LED light is on red and I plug it in, it takes less than a minute for the light to shift from red to green (meaning that it takes mere seconds to charge from 0% to 30% battery). And thanks to its USB Type-C connection, the battery charges relatively quickly—taking just over an hour to charge from 0% to full battery.
I truthfully couldn’t be happier with the battery on this cheap little device.
VooPoo Vinci Q Pods & Coils
The VooPoo Vinci Q pod kit is compatible with a few different replacement pods, giving the user choice between various resistances and coil types. This is a huge pro for the device—not only for the choice, but for the fact that if one pod stops being manufactured or is out of stock, you have more options. Thankfully, all of the compatible pods for this device utilise built-in coils, so you’ll never have to perform a messy coil change. Instead, when your vape starts to taste burnt or loses its flavour, simply discard the entire pod and replace it with a new one!
The device is compatible with the new Vinci Q pod included with the kit, as well as VooPoo Drag Nano 2 Replacement Pods and VooPoo Vinci Replacement Pods.
The Vinci Q pod included with the kit has a 1.2Ω (ohm) resistance and holds up to 2ml of E-Liquid. For me, this pod lasted 6 days (much longer than the pods in my previous device). Of course, you should take this metric with a grain of salt. I vape often, and my E-Liquids are usually quite sweet, so I go through pods faster than the average vaper.
The vapour production was discreet as with all MTL kits, but the flavour was exceptional. I did notice a bit of leaking coming from under the clamshell top-fill pod, which resulted in a small film of E-Liquid forming on the outside of the pod.
When the pod started to degrade and it was time to discard it, I had a pack of VooPoo Vinci Replacement Pods on standby. These pods have a 0.8Ω (ohm) resistance, and because of their easy side-fill port, I’ve experienced no leaking thus far. I’ve found these ones to be more flavourful than the pod included with the kit, but this is likely due to the coil resistance above all else. Still, I prefer using the Vinci pods over the one that came with the kit.
For all of the pods compatible with the Vinci Q pod kit, the rules for which E-Liquid types you can use are the same: you should only be vaping high-PG E-Liquids, like nic salts or 50/50 E-Liquids, with your Vinci Q pod kit.
Who should get the VooPoo Vinci Q Pod Kit?
The Vinci Q is an excellent choice for current smokers and recent ex-smokers looking to try vaping without much commitment, as the whole device costs about as much as two disposable vapes would (which, on average, may only last you a day or two per disposable). The Vinci Q is also a stellar choice for new vapers, for those looking for an inexpensive pod kit for travel use, and particularly for those using disposable vapes who want something more cost-effective and eco-friendly to vape in the long haul.
The beauty of this kit isn’t just in the price (or the colours): it’s in the ease of use. Everyone from your nan who smokes to your cousin who vapes Elf Bars will love the Vinci Q pod kit. Its lack of rigorous maintenance and menu systems paired with its ease-of-use and lovely design make this pod kit a top choice for low-maintenance vapers looking for something easy.
It’s not powerful or advanced or chock-full of features like some other vapes are, but it provides a perfect, easy-peasy entryway into vaping for newbies. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend the Vinci Q to experienced vapers looking for a sturdy everyday MTL kit—these vapers would be better off looking at the more advanced pod kits we have available.
