As a vaper I am sure that you have heard of the recent cases in the US where people have been hospitalised or have even died as a result of “vaping”.

We would like to shed some light on the fact that most, if not ALL of these cases have been from a compound called vitamin E acetate. This is a chemical used in some black-market THC cartridges. Vape Green does NOT sell THC, THC cartridges, or any eliquids containing vitamin E acetate. The illnesses reported have not come from any products that we have ever sold, or anything related to our products in general.

All the media covering this subject have been extremely unclear, and have generally not clarified that these events were caused by illegal THC products containing the dangerous to inhale Vitamin E ecetate. They have instead simply chosen to call them “vaping” products which is extremely misleading and damaging.

Traditional e-liquids are made with 1 or 2 main ingredients as a base, a combination of VG (Vegetable Glycerine) and PG (Propylene Glycol) or just one of the two. These ingredients have been used in eliquids for over 10years and in a variety of other products. PG for example has been used in asthma inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950’s.

When it comes to Vitamin E Acetate, it is safe to eat, use on your skin in form of lotions, hair products etc. However E Acetate it is NOT safe to inhale in vapor form. It was used by black market THC manufacturers as it has roughly the same viscosity as THC oils and looks almost identical. This meant that the end product, regardless of the amount of THC oil used looked the same. This meant that manufacturers could use a lower amount of THC in their cartridges without the product looking inferior to the end consumer.
