Nicotine Pouches

Nicotine Pouches are designed to help you get your nic fix without any tobacco or vapour. Our selection of 100% tobacco-free nic pouches delivers the nicotine you need when vaping is inconvenient, like when you’re at work or on public transit.

They make an excellent alternative to smoking, offering nicotine in a small pouch made of a combination of materials designed to deliver nicotine through the mucous membrane in your gums.

These pouches are an alternative to cigarettes and traditional snus, available in an array of mint, fruit, and drinks flavours to keep your cravings satiated.

What are Nicotine Pouches?

Nicotine pouches—also known as nicopods, lip pillows, Zynnies, or simply nic pouches—can help satisfy your nicotine cravings discreetly at times when you wouldn’t be able to vape, like when you’re at work or on a long-haul flight. They’re a less harmful alternative to cigarettes and don’t produce any smoke or vapour.

Nic pouches contain a combination of materials which, when placed between your upper lip and gum, allow your body to absorb nicotine through the mucous membrane in your mouth.

Like vapes, nic pouches aren’t designed for non-smokers, and we don’t recommend them for anyone who isn’t trying to quit or cut down on smoking or vaping.

How do nic pouches work?

To get started with your nicotine pouch, place it between your top lip and gum so it can get to work satisfying your cravings.

For the first 5 minutes or so, you’ll notice a mild tingling sensation where the pouch meets your gum—which is completely normal and means the pouch is working. If the tingle is uncomfortable or unpleasant, you may want to consider using a lower nicotine strength.

What strength nic pouch should I get?

If you’re a vaper, don’t assume that E-Liquid strengths equate to nic pouches. These products work differently and the nicotine in nic pouches is absorbed more efficiently, so just because you normally vape a 20mg E-Liquid, this doesn’t mean you’ll need a 20mg nic pouch.

We recommend starting with a lighter strength and working your way up as needed. Most nic pouch users start at 6mg and increase their strength until they’re comfortable.

Why do nicotine pouches tingle?

For the first 5 minutes or so after placing your nic pouch, it’s normal to feel a tingling sensation in the spot where the pouch meets your gum.

This means that the nicotine is leaving the pouch and permeating the mucous membrane in your gum—which means it’s working!

If you feel that the sensation is too strong or unpleasant, this may mean that your nicotine strength is too high.

How long should I leave a nic pouch in?

Every manufacturer has different guidelines for how long you should use your nicotine pouch, since some pouches take longer to work than others.

Typically, though, you’ll need to leave it in for between 30 minutes to an hour—but you should always check the instructions on the packaging to be sure.

What flavour nic pouch should I get?

Most users start with a simple mint flavour, then branch out to more exotic fruits and berry flavours. Ultimately, the choice is yours!

How many nicotine pouches should I get?

As is the case with both vaping and smoking, this will vary from user to user—but the average person will use anywhere between 6 and 10 nicotine pouches per day. You should use as many as you need to satisfy your cravings, but if you find that you’re using a lot of them, you may want to consider increasing your strength.

Nic pouches come in packs of 20 to 25, which should last you around 2 or 3 days. We offer mix & match offers to help keep you stocked up on your favourites.

What ingredients are in nic pouches?

Each pouch has an outer weave that’s made of plant-based cellulose. The weave has gaps in it to allow the nicotine—which is held inside cellulose granules—to permeate your mucous membrane after being activated by the moisture inside your mouth.

There are several other food-grade ingredients inside nicotine pouches designed to ensure your pouch works effectively, including pH modifiers for nicotine absorption, flavourings, glycerol and propylene glycol to carry the flavourings, and preservatives to keep your pouches fresh and long-lasting.

While this may seem like a lot of ingredients, it’s a short list compared to the literal thousands of compounds found in traditional cigarettes—including dozens of chemicals known to cause cancer.

While you should never deliberately swallow a nic pouch, swallowing just 1 pouch shouldn't present any huge immediate risks. Nicotine can't be absorbed through the lining of your stomach or internal organs, so this isn't a concern, though swallowing a nicotine pouch can cause nausea and indigestion due to the size of the pouch and the flavourings and preservatives inside.

If you begin to feel acutely unwell after swallowing a nicotine pouch, contact a doctor immediately.

Please always dispose of your pouches and do not swallow them intentionally.

Nic pouches have a number of important advantages.

  1. They're discreet. Nicotine pouches are ideal for situations where you wouldn't be able to smoke or vape, like in indoor spaces or public transport. They're great for long-haul flights or long shifts at work. They don't produce any smoke, vapour, or smells, and frankly, it's almost impossible for others to notice you're using them.
  2. They're simple. No set-up or maintenance. No settings, wattages, E-Liquid ratios, or hardware constraints. Nicotine pouches are incredibly easy to use for those who find the world of vaping too complex to wrap their heads around, making them very accessible for beginners.
  3. They're cost-effective. Nicotine pouches are a great choice for cost savings because there's no need for spare parts or hardware. If you're a vaper, depending on your vape kit and usage, nicotine pouches can be even cheaper than vaping.

While nicotine pouches have some amazing upsides, there are also some disadvantages to consider.

  1. They're not regulated. Whereas vapes, E-Liquids, and tobacco are all regulated by the UK government, nicotine pouches are not. Responsible retailers like us will only stock quality products from known, reputable brands, but the same can't be said for every smoke shop or off-license. We recommend you only buy your nic pouches from retailers you trust.
  2. There's not much variety. Unlike vape liquids, which offer literal thousands of flavours to suit all sorts of preferences, nicotine pouches have a more limited variety. This will change, of course, as the popularity of nic pouches grows with time—but for now, nic pouch users are limited to the options which are currently available.
  3. They're slow-acting. Compared to vapes and cigarettes, which start working straight away, nicotine pouches take longer to start working. Some users report that they don't feel the full effects of their pouch for half an hour after they place it, while others notice their pouch working in as little as 5 minutes. This will vary depending on the user and the specific brand of pouches being used.

The tingling you experience with nicotine pouches is completely normal and is a sign that the nicotine is starting to be absorbed through your mucous membrane. However, if the tingle is particularly pronounced or unpleasant, this may mean that you ned a lower nicotine strength.

Nicotine pouch manufacturers use ingredients to ensure the tingle isn't too strong (namely, the pH modifiers mentioned above). However, there's a delicate balance manufacturers must maintain to ensure that the nicotine has a high enough pH to allow it to be absorbed without being so strong that it creates an unpleasant burning feeling.

The tingle you feel when you first insert a nic pouch is essentially a balanced compromise in the pH level allowing absorption without causing a burning sensation.
