Just as it sounds, 100% VG e-liquids are made using only VG (vegetable glycerine) and are completely free of PG (propylene glycol). With no PG to thin them out, they are noticeably thicker than most other juices and need the right hardware to work properly.

Because they are such a niche product, most vape kits are not designed to handle them, so it can be tricky to find a good kit to pair them with.

To use 100% VG e-liquids you need a DTL vape kit, and you need to vape it DTL, so your coils don't burn or flood.

MTL stands for Mouth To Lung. It is the vaping style closest to smoking, where you pull the vapour into your mouth before inhaling it into your lungs. This is how most vapers start out.

The main thing to look for is whether the vape supports MTL or DTL. If it is a DTL vape, you can usually use 100% VG e-liquids. If it is an MTL vape, the answer is no.

This may sound a bit complicated, and we fully understand. There are two main points to remember. DTL means high power, low resistance coils and thicker e-liquids. MTL means low power, high resistance coils and thinner e-liquids.

Thinner e-liquids, like ones high in PG, soak into a coil quickly and don't need much power, which is why they suit vape pens and pods. Thicker juices like 100% VG need more time to soak in, so they need coils with bigger wicking holes and a lower resistance (below one ohm, hence the term sub-ohm).

Think of how a sponge absorbs water compared with oil. The water goes in quicker.

Science aside, make sure you are using a vape with coils below 1 ohm. Sub-ohm devices are the best vape kits for 100% VG e-liquids, and using thick juice in other types of kit makes for a very unpleasant vape.
