OXVA Xlim Pro Overview
The OXVA Xlim Pro just debuted: a “pro” upgrade to the previous models in the Xlim series—offering adjustable wattage on an RGB-enhanced OLED screen, as well as a larger battery size, adjustable airflow, and all-new top-filling pods with built-in mesh coils for extra flavour.
I was so excited to get to try this vape. My husband has the OXVA Xlim SE, which uses the same OXVA Xlim pods, and I’ve always loved how easy and sturdy his vape looked. And the flavour… Man, it’s really something.
The Xlim Pro is an upgrade to previous models, now backed by a larger 1000mAh battery. Plus, it comes with an attachable fabric lanyard for added portability.
This might be a bit of a spoiler, but I just want to say up front that this very well may be the best vape I’ve ever used. Ever.
So, with that being said, let’s get into my impressions!
Design & Appearance
I received the Black Carbon Fibre finish for this review. At the time of writing, this is currently the only finish we have in stock, as the other colours are sold out and on backorder across the UK.
The Xlim Pro has a very simple, no-nonsense build. It’s made of a sturdy zinc alloy material with a really excellent build quality. The tall, slim (ha!) vape has curved edges, with the body set inside a strong metallic frame.
On the left side of the Xlim Pro, you’ll find the fire button. The button can be used to power the device on or off, fire the vape, change the wattage, clear the puff counter, lock the interface, and adjust the RGB light settings.
On the right side, you’ll see the logo beneath the adjustable airflow control switch, which has two small holes and one slightly larger hole.
The back side of the device is completely blank, and on the bottom, you’ll see the USB Type-C port along with the battery size and disposal information.
The front of the Xlim Pro features the OXVA logo and the screen. The screen is quite small, with a strip of RGB lighting along the bottom which signals the current battery level when charging and vaping.
At the top, the OXVA Xlim Pro pod sits inside the battery, with the fill port located conveniently so you don’t have to remove the pod to refill it. This is not the case for the original OXVA Xlim V2 pods, which have a side-fill port along the bottom.
I really love the carbon fibre finish, though I would’ve chosen one of the more luminescent gradients if given the choice. I think some vapers might prefer a wider selection of colours/finishes.
The button placement is slightly odd for this form factor, though I do find that my thumb naturally gravitates there anyway. Some people might take issue with the placement, but since I almost always keep my interface locked, it’s not really a problem for me.
Overall, this pod kit is incredibly durable. Those who’ve read my hardware reviews know that all of my vapes get the unintended ‘drop test’—and I’m very pleased to report that the Xlim Pro has now survived several clumsy falls without a single scratch.

Interface & Features
The Xlim Pro has a seamless interface, and while this is usually where I have the most criticisms, I have very few overall.
One thing I love about the Xlim Pro (and other pod systems with this feature) is that you can lock the button by pressing it 4 times. This is great for those of us who prefer auto-draw over button activation.
I find it strange that all of the multi-press functions (puff clear, wattage adjustment, etc.) still work when the device is locked. The button placement ensures it’s not often pressed accidentally, though.
I suppose OXVA wasn’t trying to lock the button as much as they were trying to prevent pocket-firing. Either way, I love the lock function. If you never want to use the button to fire, you can simply leave it locked all the time and only use the multi-press functions as needed.
And only because I know a lot of people care about this one, I will say: the screen is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, as shown in the photos.
OLED Screen & RGB Light
The Xlim Pro’s tiny screen has a four-digit puff count (which can be cleared with 7 rather tedious button clicks), plus your current battery level (in 25% increments), your pod’s resistance, your wattage, and a little lock icon to denote whether the interface is locked.
The screen sits above an RGB light, which glows while you vape—unless you don’t want it to!
Press the fire button twice to cycle through different light settings: rainbow, single colour tiding, single colour glow, and off. With the single colour settings, the light will glow either green, blue, yellow-orange, or red depending on your current battery level.
I love that you can turn off the RGB light—perfect for when I’m shamefully vaping in my pitch-dark bedroom while my husband is trying to sleep.
Auto Coil Detection
The Xlim Pro has a really nifty feature that I’ve never seen on any other vape.
When I started using the Xlim Pro, I had a few different pods going for a nic salt review I was writing. I had a few 0.6Ω pods and a 0.8Ω pod in rotation.
The Xlim Pro has an auto coil detection feature which automatically sets the wattage for you whenever you pop in a pod. It even adjusts the maximum allowed wattage depending on the pod you’ve chosen (30W for 0.6Ω, 18W for 0.8Ω) if you prefer to set the wattage manually.
But in using the device, I found something that takes this feature even further. Say you’re using a 0.6Ω pod (best fired at 20-25W). When you first pop it in, the device will set the wattage to 22W automatically. You want a little more power, so you manually push it up to 23W.
If you swap to a pod with a different resistance, it’ll automatically adjust the wattage—but when you go back to using that 0.6Ω pod, the device will remember the wattage you used last. It’ll set it to 23W—not just the default 22W. This is also the case when you manually set it outside the recommended range.
It even remembers after rebooting the device, too!
To those who aren’t vape nuts like myself, this might seem trivial. But to me, this is awesome: I never have to adjust the wattage again after I find the perfect setting, even if I’m swapping between pods. It’s great!
Airflow Control
This is one of the device’s biggest pros. When fully open, the airflow control gives a nice, loose RDTL draw, and toggling the switch will allow you to fine-tune your draw. For me, I found the best MTL hit by moving the airflow upward about 2mm (pictured below).
The best part? It stays put! The switch is incredibly sturdy and stays exactly where I’ve set it no matter how I carry the vape—in my pocket, in my bag, or on the lanyard around my neck.
This is in contrast with some of the previous Xlim models, which had slightly less sturdy airflow switches. Below, you’ll find a comparison of the airflow controls on both the Xlim Pro and the Xlim C.

Battery Life & Performance
The Xlim Pro has great battery life. My previous daily driver, the Uwell Caliburn X, had a smaller 850mAh battery compared to the Xlim Pro’s 1000mAh. The battery in my Caliburn recently started to degrade after 7 months of dutiful service, and at that point, I was recharging it up to 4 times a day.
So, imagine my utter glee when this vape’s first charge lasted me an entire day. Me, a heavy vaper! An entire day!
I plug my vape in when I first get up in the morning for about 40 minutes. I’ve noticed that by the time I’m done making breakfast most days, the vape’s light is already blue, signalling 50-75% battery. That’s a massive amount of charge after only 10-15 minutes plugged in!
Since I began using the Xlim Pro, I’ve found that I usually only need to recharge it once in the afternoon after my initial morning charge.
The device has 2A USB Type-C charging, which allows it to reach full charge from 0% in under half an hour. It’s crazy fast and holds its charge for a long time.
Now, as I said, I’m a heavy vaper. I get to vape at work all day. I vape at home. I vape in the in-between. So, if you’re an average vaper, you’ll likely get about twice as much time as I do out of each charge.
As always, you never want to leave any vape plugged in overnight.

Pods
When you purchase the Xlim Pro, you’ll receive two of the newly released Xlim Pro pods (a.k.a. Xlim V3 pods): the 0.6Ω (ohm) pod, which comes pre-installed in the device, and the 0.8Ω (ohm) pod, which comes as a spare in the box.
The device is compatible with these new Xlim V3 pods as well as the previous OXVA Xlim V2 pods, so you can grab whichever is available—though I would definitely recommend the V3 over the V2 pods because of the fill port. This is the only real difference between the pods.
The pods have built-in mesh coils, which deliver incredibly dense, flavoursome vapour compared to standard wire coils.
And because these coils are built-in, you’ll never have to perform a messy coil change! Instead, when your vape starts to taste burnt or begins losing its flavour, simply discard the entire pod and replace it with a new one.
I’ve grown wary of vapes that use pods with built-in coils, as they tend to have a much shorter lifespan compared to changeable coils. You end up spending more on pods than intended.
However, I’ve found that the longevity of these pods is incredible—they last over a week for me, which is about as long as my changeable Caliburn G coils normally last.
I have absolutely no negative feedback about the Xlim V3 pods.
Filling the OXVA Xlim Pro Pods
The previous Xlim V2 pods had a minor issue with the design. The placement of the fill port meant that the nozzle of an E-Liquid bottle, when inserted, would line right up with the cotton wick inside the coil. Vapers who stuck the nozzle in too far could easily flood the coil by squirting the E-Liquid directly into the cotton wick.
Flooded coils are really unpleasant, causing a lot of spit back and leaking around the outside of the pod. In response to this, OXVA released a YouTube video instructing customers on how to fill the pods correctly.
Now, OXVA has taken feedback on board and implemented what they’re calling a “top-fill” port—which is funny, because when I think of top-fill, I think of devices like the Uwell Caliburn or the Vaporesso XROS. This is more of a top-side-fill port than anything else.
OXVA has moved the fill port further up the pod to avoid your E-Liquid nibs touching the coil while filling. This also means you can now refill your pod without removing it from the device.
The fill port has a little rubber plug to hold the E-Liquid in, and I’ve had no leaking or issues so far.
Just be sure when you’re filling your pods that you’re not sticking the nozzle directly into the holes in the coil. With the new V3 pods, this shouldn’t be an issue.
Pairing the Xlim Pro With E-Liquids
No matter which pod resistance you choose, you should only be pairing the Xlim Pro with high-PG E-Liquids. This includes both nicotine salts as well as 50/50 E-Liquids.
If you find that nic salts are a bit harsh for you in the 0.6Ω pod, I’d suggest trying one of the higher-resistance pods instead. The lower the resistance, the more vapour you’ll produce, and nic salts are generally more conducive to discreet clouds and higher-resistance coils.
I tried both 50/50 and salt nic in the pods I was given, and I found that the 0.6Ω pod is definitely better for 50/50 liquids (also known as “freebase”) while the 0.8Ω is great for nic salts.
I didn’t get to try the 1.2Ω pods with this device, but I’ve tried them previously in another Xlim model. The 1.2Ω pod is perfect for those who like a discreet MTL cloud with a nice, sharp throat hit.
We do not recommend using any high-VG E-Liquids (like shortfills) in these pods. Unless you want an unpleasant vape experience, I’d steer clear.
Key Specs
- Capacity: 2ml
- Fill port: Top-fill
- Coil resistance: 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.2Ω
- Coil type: Mesh (built-in)

Vaping the OXVA Xlim Pro
Vaping the Xlim Pro is a total breeze. Once you’ve set your wattage and your airflow control, there’s nothing to do but vape! The device is so hands-off that you don’t have to set the wattage (or even use the button) if you don’t want to. Just pop in your pod and get going!
The OXVA Xlim Pro delivers a seamless vape experience from start to finish, with the densest, most flavoursome clouds I’ve ever vaped. I feel bad for the next vape that crosses my path—how could it ever beat the Xlim Pro’s incredible flavour?
I have no notes.
OXVA Xlim Pro vs. OXVA Xlim V2
OXVA has already released an adjustable wattage Xlim vape—the Xlim V2. And while the V2 has the same form factor, airflow, and screen (minus the colourful RGB lighting) as the Xlim Pro, there are a few notable differences between the two models.
Namely, the Xlim Pro has a larger battery: 1000mAh compared to the V2’s 900mAh. In addition, the V2 charges more slowly than the Xlim Pro; it has 1A charging while the Pro has 2A charging.
Other than that, the Xlim Pro can output up to 30W, while the V2 only goes up to 25W.
Who should get the Xlim Pro?
If you’re an MTL pod vaper looking for a step up from the average non-adjustable pod kit, this is the vape for you! It’s got everything you could ask for, plus some things you didn’t think to ask for (and didn’t know you needed).
Similarly, if you’re a flavour hound like me—always looking for the most flavoursome juice on the tastiest coils—you really can’t beat the Xlim Pro. This vape is up there with legends like the Caliburn and the XROS, though I’d go one step further and say it tops them all.
If you’re a “pro”—or you want to be one—I would 100% recommend this vape!
OXVA Xlim Pro Accessibility
I don’t think the Xlim Pro is accessible for everyone because of the screen, particularly if you have a vision impairment. In addition, the small, flat button along the side of the device may not be the best choice for those with dexterity issues in their hands.
For those with accessibility requirements, I’d recommend that you opt instead for a buttonless device, like the OXVA Xlim SE. It has a much easier interface (none), which may be more suitable for those with a vision impairment or dexterity issues. Plus, it uses the same pods, so you’ll get just as much flavour.
You can still purchase the new Xlim V3 top-fill pods to use with the Xlim SE, which may be easier to refill for those with dexterity problems. The small rubber plug on the fill port may be difficult to open if you struggle in this respect—if so, contact us and we’ll help set you up with the perfect kit for you.

Conclusion: All Pros for the Xlim Pro!
I never thought I’d see the day when I gave a vape a near-perfect score.
I just want to add in here that neither OXVA nor Vape Green has paid me to be this nice—I swear. I always try to give fair critique on everything that’s put in front of me, and I try to provide feedback on how a product can be improved in future iterations.
But with the Xlim Pro, I found that the only small suggestions I have are just preferences. Objectively, every feature of this vape is well thought-out and meticulously crafted, so much so that I have almost nothing negative to say.
Bravo, OXVA.
The only way this vape could be improved, in my opinion, would be if OXVA released a changeable coil version. That’s the only thing that would make this vape better.
I imagine I’ll be carrying this vape until either A, the battery degrades, or B, someone pries it from my cold, dead hands. Either way, I’m gonna be using this vape until I can’t anymore.
