OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Review
OXVA sent us over a sample of their all-new OXVA Xlim Pro 2 pod kit for review. With its whopping 1300mAh battery and stunning screen animations, it’s destined to be a huge hit. Let’s take a closer look at the device!
The OXVA Xlim Pro was our best-selling pod kit of 2023, and for much of 2024, it’s dominated the vape market. Enter the all-new OXVA Xlim Pro 2: an evolution of the original Pro, now with a larger battery, an improved interface, and a stunning array of colour options.
We were lucky enough to get a sample of the device before its release, and as regular readers will know, I’m a huge fan of the Xlim series. I couldn’t wait to try this one out for myself.
I could go on and on, but for the sake of brevity (not my strong suit), let’s just dive right in!

OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Overview
Following the rousing success of the original OXVA Xlim Pro, OXVA has debuted the Xlim Pro 2 with a host of improvements to the original model’s design.
The all-new Xlim Pro 2 is on a mission to perfect near-perfection with improved functionality, a larger battery, and a stunning HD display screen complete with cute little animations.
Frankly, it’s a vape reviewer’s dream.
I was so thrilled when OXVA sent this one over. The version we received is a pre-release sample, so the packaging and contents may change before launch—in which case, I’ll update my review.
Let’s dive in!
Design and Appearance
I received the Dream Purple finish, which has a wavy, somewhat holographic mauve pattern framed by a purplish metal skeleton. I would’ve loved the brown leather finish, but honestly, this is such a pretty shade of purple!
The Xlim Pro 2 is made of a sturdy zinc alloy, with python-style artificial leather on a few of the finishes. There’s a round-edged plate showcasing the finish on the front and back of the device, with a metal framing around the edges.
On the front, you’ll find the 0.56” HD colour screen with its accompanying LED light smack in the centre, as well as the OXVA logo along the bottom front. On one side, you’ll find the button, and on the other, the airflow adjustment slider.
The back of the device is plain, and on the bottom, you’ll see the battery capacity listed along with the relevant disposal and safety icons surrounding the USB type-C charging port.
And, of course, the top of the device houses the magnetically-fitted pod.
The vape looks and feels great in your hand, with a nice weight to it. It feels sturdy without being cumbersome. The pattern on the finish I received makes it hard to spot any fingerprints, though of course, the screen is quite the fingerprint magnet, as they always are.
Also important to note, the vape comes included with an attachable fabric lanyard for added portability!

Interface and Features
The Xlim Pro 2 boasts a new and improved interface—a step up from the interfaces used in both the original Xlim Pro and the Xlim SQ Pro. I’ll break down all the new features below.
Adjustable Airflow
The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 utilises the same side-airflow system as the other OXVA Xlim vapes, allowing you to fine-tune your draw from a loose RDTL vape to a tight, disposable-style MTL draw. I personally like to keep mine set about halfway.
The airflow toggle itself is quite sturdy and will stay however you set it, which is nice. I remember the toggle on the earlier Xlim vapes were quite flimsy in comparison, which meant constantly checking to make sure it’s where you like it.
No worries on that front with the Xlim Pro 2—you can basically set it and forget it.
I’ve noticed, after using a variety of OXVA Xlim vapes over the past year or so, that the airflow valve can very easily get gunked-up from regular use. I like to use a fine-tipped instrument—like a staple or a paperclip—every few weeks to clear out the holes and ensure the airflow is nice and smooth.
I think this is my only qualm with the Xlim’s airflow system—it just requires a little maintenance over time, especially if you use it as your all-day-every-day vape.
HD Colour Screen
The 0.56” HD colour screen doesn’t quite fill the window surrounding it; there’s a bit of padding space on either side of the screen to accommodate the rounded edges and the LED strip along the bottom.
I think if OXVA nixed the rounded corners, they could’ve made the screen much larger (it’s roughly half the size of the screen on the Xlim SQ Pro, which was 0.96”), but it’s super vibrant and legible, so I’m not complaining. It just feels like a lot of wasted space there just to give it a groovy rounded aesthetic.
That being said, the screen itself holds all the information you need: battery level, current wattage, your pod’s resistance (measured in ohms – Ω), and your puff count. The puff counter goes up to 5 digits, which I can honestly say I’ve never seen before—though, to be frank, I don’t know a single vaper who pays attention to their puff counter.
Animations
The OXVA Xlim Pro 2’s screen offers 3 different display animation options while vaping: fireworks, a whirl of vapour, and a simple rainbow LED with no accompanying animation. I like the whirl of vapour the most—it feels very apropos.
If you select one of the two animations, the LED light at the bottom of the screen will glow with the colour corresponding to your current battery level while vaping. For instance, if you have it set to display fireworks and your vape is on 61% battery, the light will glow blue beneath the animation while you vape. It’s really neat.
The downside to using the LED rainbow-only display is that the light won’t indicate your battery level—it’ll only oscillate through the rainbow—though, of course, there are other animation options if you prefer your light to correspond to the battery level.
Battery Level
By far, my absolute favourite thing about the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 is that the battery level is measured in 1% increments. I’ve only ever seen this on the Vaporesso XROS Pro, and it’s such a useful feature.
There’s something about that one puff when the battery light transitions to red that fills me with dread—but being able to see exactly how much battery you have left percentage-wise helps you better prepare for recharges.
It was my favourite feature on the XROS Pro’s interface, and it’s my favourite on the Xlim Pro 2’s as well. I wish all vapes showed you your battery level in 1% increments. Isn’t it time we do away with the colour-coded lighting system?
Controls
Unlike other vapes which use a lockable fire button system, the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 is auto-draw only. This means that the button is only there to help you navigate the interface—and it also means that your vape won’t ever accidentally fire in your pocket or in transit.
I can’t tell you how many coils I’ve lost because my vape’s fire button was accidentally pressed by something else inside my handbag. I nearly set off the fire alarms at Olympia London during Drag Con for this very reason, so it’s nice to finally see a button that only functions as navigation for the interface.
The controls for the vape are very simple, outlined on a transparent insert inside the vape’s packaging. The controls are as follows:
- 1x click to wake up the screen
- 2x clicks to switch the display
- 3x clicks to adjust the wattage
- 5x clicks to power on or off
- 7x clicks to clear the puff counter
- Long press for the operating guide on-screen
The last point is super handy—if you ever forget how many button presses it takes to adjust the wattage or clear your puffs, simply long-press the button for instructions. No need to memorise morse code.
My only con—and it’s so, so very minor—is that the wattage can only be adjusted in 1W increments, while the previous Xlim Pro model allowed for adjustments of 0.5W increments. This is such a small thing that would likely only affect diehard vapers who have a very particular wattage they like to vape at.
Overall, I’m a huge fan of the controls on this one, since they’re so simple. The vape automatically sets the wattage for you when you pop in a new pod, so you don’t even have to touch the wattage settings if you don’t want to. In fact, I’ve spent most of my time simply swapping between the various animations.

Battery Life and Performance
The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 has a 1300mAh battery, which is a 30% increase on the battery life of the original Xlim Pro. For MTL vaping, 1300mAh is a hefty capacity that will easily last most vapers at least 2 days or more, though OXVA advertises it as a 4-day capacity.
Personally, as a very heavy/frequent vaper, the battery lasts me almost the entire day. I generally only have to top it up once in the evening. For most vapes, I need to give it a full charge in the morning, then another in the afternoon. I love that this one really only needs one full charge per day.
OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Charging
Best of all, the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 utilises USB type-C fast-charging with a blissful 2A charging current, meaning it can be recharged quickly with a USB-C fast charger. It only takes about 30 to 40 minutes to charge from 0% to 100% with a fast charger.
It’ll take roughly twice as long with a standard USB-C cable.
While charging, the vape keeps you apprised of the current battery percentage on the backdrop of whichever display animation you’re using. The only vape that does this better, I’d say, is the Vaporesso XROS Pro—which also gives an estimate of how much time is left to charge. If the Xlim Pro 2 had this, I think the battery and charging would be perfect.
Key Specs
- Battery size: 1300mAh
- Charging type: USB Type-C
- Charging current: 5V/2A
- Total charging time: 40 mins.
OXVA Xlim Pods
The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 comes with 2 pods included: a 0.6Ω (ohm) pod pre-installed and a spare 0.8Ω (ohm) pod in the packaging.
As always, these pods are designed specifically for use with high-PG E-Liquids with a 50PG/50VG ratio. This includes all 10ml E-Liquids like nicotine salts and freebase 10ml E-Liquids.
In addition to the included pods, the Xlim Pro 2 is compatible with all other OXVA Xlim pods (except the Xlim C pods), including the Xlim V2 pods as well as the OXVA Xlim prefilled pods.
The prefilled pods are—you guessed it—prefilled with 2ml of disposable vape-flavoured E-Liquid with a 20mg (2%) nicotine strength, ideal for those coming off of disposable vapes or who need something fuss-free for their commute or a night out. These pods are closed (meaning non-refillable).
OXVA Xlim V3 Pods
The pods included with the device are the “top-fill” OXVA Xlim V3 pods, though I’ve always taken issues with them being called top-fill. True top-fill pods, like the Vaporesso XROS pods or the pods used in the Uwell Caliburn series, have clamshell top-filling and not a silicone plug covering the fill port. This makes them easier to fill and much more leak-proof.
Personally, I prefer the OXVA Xlim V2 pods, which have a bottom-side fill port and are less messy to refill. The V3 pods have this top-side fill port, which does mean that you can refill the pod without removing it from the device.
However, to access the fill port, you need to remove the silicone plug and rotate it so it’s out of the way—and the plug always has some juice on the underside which gets onto the outside of the pod and your fingers. It’s irritating that it always needs a wipe after a refill.
By contrast, the V2 pods have a silicone plug that you don’t need to move in order to refill. As a result, no juice gets on your hands and refills are less messy. The V2 pods have some flooding and leaking issues if they’re refilled incorrectly, but if you know what you’re doing, I think they’re easier to use.
In addition, accessing the fill port on the V3 pods can be difficult if you don’t have longer fingernails, since the tab you need to pull to open the port is situated inside a groove. And when pushing the plug back in place, it’s very easy to push it too far—into the pod, in fact, which you can then only fix with a pair of narrow tweezers and a prayer that it doesn’t break.
Personally, I prefer the V2 pods, and the vapers I know who use Xlim vapes also prefer the V2 version.
All this being said, the flavour from the OXVA Xlim pods—whether V2 or V3—is always consistent, strong, and clean. Plus, the pods last forever; after a week and a half of heavy vaping, the flavour is still going strong, with no hints of burning or muted flavour.
If they had a better fill port, the OXVA Xlim pods would be my favourite of all time, easily. The flavour is simply exceptional, and the coils can handle both nic salts and freebase nicotine at any strength in any of the pods’ many available resistances.
Key Specs
- Capacity: 2ml
- Fill port: Top side-fill
- Coil resistance: 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω (0.4Ω, 1.0Ω, and 1.2Ω resistances also available)
- Coil type: mesh (built-in)
- Compatible E-Liquids: 50VG/50PG
Vaping the OXVA Xlim Pro 2
Vaping the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 is easy-peasy thanks to its inhale activation. You don’t even need to fiddle with the settings either, since the vape uses auto coil detection, which senses the resistance of your pod and sets the wattage for you accordingly.
Of course, if you fancy a slightly higher or lower wattage, you can easily adjust it yourself using the button. You can also configure your airflow to suit your desired draw.
Personally, I keep my airflow at around the halfway mark, and I like my power settings about 1W higher than the default for each pod. This is entirely up to you, though!
I haven’t experienced a single hiccup so far with the Xlim Pro 2—nothing but flawless clouds at the moment, and I’m over 4500 puffs in, according to the puff counter.
Who should get the OXVA Xlim Pro 2?
Thanks to its many user-friendly features, the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 is truly ideal for everyone. Whether you’re a beginner who simply likes the pretty animations and the auto-draw or an experienced MTL vaper who likes to tailor their power settings, the Xlim Pro 2 caters to all experience levels.
It’s as customisable as an advanced vaper would want it to be, while also being as simple and user-friendly as a new vaper would need.
No matter how long you’ve vaped or how much customisation you fancy, the Xlim Pro 2 is the ideal kit.
OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Accessibility
For every vape kit I review, I try to include some accessibility information given the sheer volume of smokers making the switch to vaping, including a number of older smokers who may struggle with their dexterity (due to arthritis) or their vision.
The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 is, I’d say, quite accessible for vapers with a visual impairment thanks to its large, bright HD screen and colour-coded battery indicator. However, for those with dexterity issues who may struggle gripping small objects or pressing small buttons, I don’t think the Xlim Pro 2 is very accessible. This is mainly due to the fill port on the pods.
Even fully abled people with short or bitten-down fingernails will struggle to open the fill port on the pod to refill their device, so if you struggle with this sort of thing, I’d suggest a different vape like the Vaporesso XROS 4, which uses pods with a much more accessible snap-off cap for refilling.

Pros & Cons of the OXVA Xlim Pro 2
I had a lot of trouble coming up with cons for this device aside from my qualms with the V3 pods.

Conclusion: The Perfect Sequel to the Xlim Pro!
I’m absolutely in love with the OXVA Xlim Pro 2, and for now, it’ll be my everyday vape alongside my trusty XROS 4.
Once again, OXVA’s latest release rivals (and perhaps surpasses) the best pod vapes on the market, keeping Vaporesso on their heels and leaving the various Caliburn iterations in the dust. It seems that now, the race for the best vape kits is neck-and-neck between the Vaporesso XROS series and the OXVA Xlim series once more.
Once I’ve used up the two V3 pods that came with the Xlim Pro 2, I’ll be going back to the V2 pods—but aside from my issues with filling the pods, I really struggled to find any negatives at all. Although the pods are a pain to fill, they’re absolutely delicious, leak-free, and long-lasting.
